Vita

Benjamin Lehmann, M.Sc. completed the Bachelor’s program Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 2017 specialising in „Automotive Engineering“. During his Bachelor’s, he developed a gearbox for an electric driven race car as part of the Formula Student Team „Ecurie Aix“. As part of an internship abroad at Schaeffler Greater China in Shanghai, he was involved in the system development of an electric vehicle axle. In 2019, he completed the Master’s program „Automotive Engineering“ at RWTH Aachen University. As part of his thesis at MSE and in cooporation with Schaeffler, Mr. Lehmann investigated the fluid flow of the gearbox lubrication in electric powertrains using the SPH-Simulation.

Mr. Lehmann has been employed as a PhD candidate at MSE since October 2019 and has been working in the bearing technology department since January 2021. He is involved in the calculation of hydrodynamic plain bearings and the development of condition monitoring systems for hydrodynamic plain bearings.
