Vita
Mr. Gomes Cruz, M. Sc. RWTH, studied Civil Engineering at the Faculdade de Engenharia de Sorocaba – FACENS in Sorocaba, Brazil until 2021. His focus was on Structural Analysis and Project Integration. Parallel to his Bachelor's Degree, Mr. Gomes Cruz completed his internship in the field of Project Integration and Quality at Huawei.
In the period from 2021 to 2022, he completed his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on Computational Methods. As part of his Master's Thesis at the Institute of Steel Construction at RWTH Aachen University (STB), he dealt with Reinforcement of Steel Bridges using Bonded Steel Patches - development of a methodology for assessing service life extension using FE-Simulations and Machine Learning Models. He worked part-time at Cummins Deutschland GmbH and was involved in the development of FE-Simulations, Parameterization and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) of pumps.
Since March 2023, Mr. Gomes Cruz has been working at MSE as a research assistant in the field of Bearing Technology.
