Philipp Waigand, M. Sc. RWTH, studied mechanical engineering with specialisation in textile technology at RWTH Aachen University. In 2023, he then graduated with a master’s degree in the field of general mechanical engineering with specialisations in fluid and medical technology. He expanded his competence profile through study stays at Oulu University in Finland and Seoul National University in South Korea.
Philipp Waigand wrote his master's thesis at the Chair and Institute of Machine Elements and System Development (MSE) on the topic of "Modelling of a system architecture for customised design in medical engineering using the example of biodegradable bone implants".
Since July 2023, he has been working at MSE as a research assistant in the field of Systems Engineering – Design Methodology.
