The D³-Lab can be used as a multifunctional space for development projects, training and teaching seminars or as a creative lab. As a student of mechanical engineering and industrial engineering, you have the opportunity to develop the products of tomorrow in the D³-Lab of the MSE.

State-of-the-art manufacturing and development tools in hardware and software as well as the support of trained development engineers and natural scientists promote the technical realization of your ideas.

Practical think tank and research network: The results and findings of your development processes are used in the teaching and training concept of the MSE and are thus sustainably available to future generations of students.

Projet 660 Pro

3D printer for the production of prototypes and illustrative objects from gypsum powder. The gypsum powder is solidified layer by layer in the binder jetting process by applying a binder. A special feature of the ProJet 660Pro is the ability to produce full-color objects for initial function tests, installation analyses and for communicating function and design.

Ultimaker 2 and Ultimaker 2 Extended

3D printer for the production of prototypes and small series products from plastics such as PLA or ABS. The plastic is melted in the Fused Filament Fabrication process (FFF) and applied layer by layer through a nozzle.

Formlabs Form 2

3D printer for the production of prototypes and small series products from photopolymers (resins). The photopolymer is solidified layer by layer in the stereolithography process (SLA) by means of a laser or a UV light source. A special feature of Formlab Form 2 is the possibility of producing objects with very fine structures.

Felix Pro 2 (Dual-E)

3D printer for the production of prototypes and small series products from plastics such as PLA or ABS. The plastic is melted in the Fused Filament Fabrication process (FFF) and applied layer by layer through a nozzle. A special feature of the Felix Pro 2 here is the dual extruder system, which allows two different materials to be processed during one printing process.

Sintratec Kit

3D printer for the production of prototypes and small series products made of plastics such as polyamide 12 (PA 12). The plastic is heated in powder form in the selective laser sintering (SLS) process and solidified layer by layer by means of a laser. The special feature of the Sintratec kit is the high mechanical load-bearing capacity of the objects and increased design freedom due to the support of overhangs in the powder bed.

Creality CR-10 5s

A special feature of the Creality CR-10 5s is the large installation space, which enables the production of objects with dimensions of up to 500 mm.
