Research project "ImPaKT" launched
How do changes to a partial model affect a mechanically sophisticated, interdisciplinary overall system? The Systems Engineering Modeling and Simulation team is addressing this question in the new research project "ImPaKT".
For effective & efficient product development, engineering teams must evaluate the effects of changes in requirements during customization developments, but especially in cross-company engineering change management (ECM). Implications on development efforts, the degree of fulfillment of requirements and the product variants, follow-up costs must be anticipated.
The ImPaKT technology alliance is convergently developing existing ICT base technologies to enable ECM, linking isolated solutions and creating standards for handling changes in order to develop products faster and more cost-effectively.
We are looking forward to working with the consortium and especially to the joint research work with our colleagues from the Heinz Nixdorf Institute.
