FVA 682 I Electric Drive NVH Simulation Model
Modeling for NVH simulation of an electric drivetrain
Results
Cross-domain calculation tools (electrical, mechanical, and acoustic) were developed for efficient prediction of the drivetrain-related interior noise of the vehicle. These tools would permit the analysis of weak points and the assessment of optimization measures from dominant NVH phenomena in early phases of the development process. The results were validated based on full experimental acoustic measurements of a vehicle on a test track as well as on a drivetrain test bench.
The dominant acoustic abnormality could be analyzed and eliminated.
Motivation
One million electric vehicles by 2020 – fundamental acceptance of the technology is required to achieve this federal government objective. The high-frequency vehicle interior noise, caused by the drivetrain, is in particular often perceived as unpleasant. Simulation methods and models are needed for prediction and optimization of the interior noise are in their early development phases.
