For the fifth time, project "Well-prepared for Engineering Studies" has introduced students to important facts and practical applications of theoretical results within Engineering Studies at the beginning of the semester. The joint project between FH Aachen and RWTH Aachen University provides students, trainees as well as high school graduates with the possibility to participate in a special orientation semester. As usual, the Chair for Wind Power Drives provided students with a guided tour of the institute on Campus Boulevard. Detailed explanations of test rigs as well as insights into interdisciplinary projects, such as Hydrola and HBDV (a project aiming at improving the design processes for heavy-duty slewing rings in wind turbines), offered opportunities to learn more about how theoretical constructs are applied in practice.
