RUBIN-Bündnis reACT
The MSE has been part of the RUBIN alliance reACT - Resorbable Solutions from the Aachen Technology Region since autumn 2022. This project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, has set itself the goal of transferring dissolving implants into medical application in the medium term and thus making a direct contribution to structural change in the Aachen city region. The alliance wants to achieve this goal through a holistic approach and a sustainable utilisation concept. To this end, the alliance networks medical technology companies and research partners from the Aachen city region to enable a smooth transition from research to application.
As part of the joint project "Next Gen Innovation", the MSE has set itself the goal of innovating the processes for product development in medical technology. To this end, within the next three years, the MSE will research and provide a model-based product engineering process (mPEP) that will enable a change process of absorbable, medical solutions by using a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach and an early certification of absorbable, medical solutions by extending the MBSE approach. To achieve this goal, the mPEP is being researched and validated using the example of an absorbable solution from the application area of orthopaedics.
